About the Event
All are welcome to this DTC Ultra event! We make sure to keep the group close and keep up with the back of the pack.
We will explore the Caesar Creek (almost) 16 mile loop (option to shorten it to 12 and skip peninsula loop): we will run a combo of Perimeter Trail (yellow loop), Wellman Meadow section (green/red trail) and peninsula loop behind Fifty Springs ( orange loop). It might sound complicated, but it really is well marked and easy to follow.
This is also the 2016-2018 ORRRC Dawg Gone Long course loop for those who are familiar with the race. There are bathrooms available at a couple spots along the route and water should be available at 50 Springs or Boat Ramp (roughly half way through the loop).
Please note: Visitor Center (at the start/finish) is a federal property therefore masks are now required there (including in the restrooms) regardless of vaccination status. Masks are not required in other restrooms along the course as those are managed by the state.
If there is an interest we might also visit the (in)famous Caesar Creek Dam for one(or way more :)) hill repeats. The dam is 0.1 mi up, 33% grade, 150 ft of gain per repeat. It is mown on a very sporadic basis and might have weeds growing up to our knees or might be as well groomed as the NCR golf club. We won't know until we get there :). If it is overgrown calf sleeves are highly encouraged as those weeds can be crazy itchy for those of us who are allergy sufferers.
