With three coached runs each week in November and December using run/walk intervals, this program can help you maintain your fitness after race season is over -- or continue your training for the last races on your 2025 calendar! Don't forget — DTC Members receive a 10% discount on their registration!
Member Julie Nau, 63, lives outside of New Carlisle and works as a freelance graphic designer. She has three adult kids and one granddaughter.
Tell us about your running history: I started running in my 20s - 5Ks and sprint triathlons. I continued running sporadically while raising kids, and when they all ran cross country for school, I got back in the swing of running regularly again.

When did you join the Run/Walk training group? I’ve been part of the group since 2023, when I was training for the Air Force half marathon and I’ve never stopped! Since joining, I’ve been participating in five half marathons a year and would never have been able to do this by myself.
What made you continue with it? Left on my own I tend to run on an inconsistent schedule until something is injured. The group has provided a disciplined training schedule where I don’t overtrain, but still get miles in. I’ve met great people and it is super positive. It’s definitely in the top of the “favorite parts of my life” list.
How has the Run/Walk group helped with your races this fall? I just completed the Air Force half marathon and have another half-marathon in November.
What are your future running plans after this year? I enjoy the distance of half marathons and attempting to outdo my time at each event. The plan is to continue with a half marathon every other month and I hope to add one or two sprint triathlons and a few 5Ks in 2026.
Anything else you'd like to share? Since our running group has joined the Dayton Track Club, our pack has grown and I’ve met even more of nice people from many different walks of life. I’ve enjoyed the extra events and being part of a larger organization - life is too short to run alone.
